Recorded during 2000/2001 at Global American Studios in San Francisco, CA, Liesl's Wet Dress/Shedding Skin was originally released on SF's Rodent Records in 2002.

Liesl's Wet Dress (named for a classic scene in the musical, The Sound of Music) was a gypsy folk rock band-- fronted by singer/songwriter Antonette Goroch on vocals/acoustic guitar, along with various members between 2000-2005. Shedding Skin was the first release from LWD and included Philip Minnig (guitar/vocals), Roberto Zimmerman (bass), Josh Bevelacqua (drums/vocals) and Greg Turner (guitar/vocals), as well as cameos from violinist, Carrie Bradley (The Breeders, Ed's Redeeming Qualities), guitarist, Aaron Nudelman (Sunless Day, Men's Club) and other local characters of the moment.

Track Name: Elephant Woman
Ladies and gents
(and of course children too)
You wouldn't believe what a show waits for you
A fascinating bit of exotica tonight
It's that lady you've been waiting for...
Elephant Woman, that's right
Who is she you ask?
She's the queen of curiosities.
The empress of the awful--
the goddess of atrocities
She walks like a human
even talks like one too--
but an accident at birth made her not like me and you..

I'm the one who found her,
(I'm a doctor you see)
But my "business" side understood
What a goldmine she might be
Those disfigured limbs!
That grotesque flap of skin!
I put her in the freakshow & the money just rolled in.
Some would question my "ethics"
But I'm a man of honor & integrity,
Who better to profit from her
repulsive physiogomy?

Her mom had name her joan
after the heroine joan of arc
cause when she saw her kid at birth,
she thought a name of strength was smart
No need to ask who she is--
She's the queen of our curiosities
The empress of we the awful
The goddess of our atrocities
She walks like a woman
Even talks like one too--
And what happened to her,
could happen
Track Name: Over You
It's always been a pleasure
And by always I mean never
Sure you find yourself quite clever
But our relationship I must sever
Because I'm over you...

You know how much I love you
And by love I mean despise you
Yeah, ya know I sympathize with you
But your addiction overrides you
And now I'm over you

Did I say you're looking lovely?
What I mean is that you're crazy
Did you think you could possess me?
Well now you've seen the last of me
